Summer at The ACADEMY OF CLASSICAL BALLET
An Academic Edge The difference is clear; students who study dance have better problem solving skills, stronger creative thinking abilities and better grades than non-dancers. The Academy of Classical Ballet has meaningful academic content in each dance class at every level of training. Expertise Our ballet curriculum was created with the help of medical experts specializing in dance, taught by instructors with more than twenty years of dance experience. The Dancing Difference Due to the unique training at the Academy, our dancers are accomplished artists who truly understand their craft. These dancers can do more than just 'show what they know'; they can explain it, illustrating their knowledge in great detail. Best of all, our students truly enjoy their dance experience.
Summer Dance
Summer dance classes are a wonderful way for current dancers and prospective students to spend the summer. For the experienced Academy student, summer classes provide the opportunity to maintain technique. For new students, this allows the opportunity to "try out" dance, and see if the ACB is the dance school for them. Chances are, it will be.
All students will need to bring a water bottle, and should also have leather ballet slippers. Students enrolling for the dance year in fall will wish to follow dress code for their fall classes. Classes Little Princess Ages 3-5 Imagine, play and learn! A ballet focused movement class for young ballerinas in training. Mondays 5:30pm-6:00pm June 13th- July 25th (No classes on July 4th) $84 Tiny Dancers Ages 6-8* Classes focus on Pre-Ballet Level II work and beyond. Students work on both fine and gross motor skills that will prepare them for success in later ballet classes. Tuesdays June 14th- July 19th 5:30-6:00pm $84 Dance Camps Fairy Tale Ballet Ages 3-6* This whimsical camp ignites the imagination. Students will learn not only pre-ballet content, but creative movement concepts and movements as well. Camp includes a daily pre-ballet class. Group work as well as individual work is encouraged as students explore their own creativity through movement possibility and imagination. Cost $104 June 20th-23rd 10:00am-12:00pm July 11th-14th 10:00am-12:00pm
Le Carnaval des Animaux (Carnival of the Animals) Ages 6-8* This mime and ballet inspired camp, for the older, more experienced young dancer, is based upon and uses music from the well known composer Camille Saint-Saëns.. Dancers will pick their own animals to depict in art form, as well as performing their own dance piece. Camp also contains a ballet class each day. Cost $104 Supply fee: $15 June 27th-30th 10:00am-12:00pm July 18th-21st 10:00am-12:00pm
Swan Lake Ages 4-7* Students will learn the story of Swan Lake and participate in a daily pre-ballet class, and make their own Swan Lake tutus! Cost $104 Supply fee: $25 July 25th-28th 10:00am-12:00pm Dance Camps and classes for students over the age of eight, TBA. Classes and camps are open until enrollment capacity is met.

Auditions *New students who will be seven or older and are interested in enrolling in the 2011-2012 dance year must audition. Information about the audition process is available on our audition page.
